Beginnings

We often do beginnings on Sunday, taking a look at the start of one of my novels. CAT ON A HOT TIN WOOF, the 16th novel – but not the last! – in the Chet and Bernie mystery series – comes out April 14 (preorderable). We’re now doing the beginning of each one, going backwards (since the series can be read in any order) and on the 16th Sunday we’ll do CAT ON A HOT TIN WOOF. Last Sunday was A FAREWELL TO ARFS, the most recent, and so today: UP ON THE WOOF TOP.

UP ON THE WOOF TOP, a #Christmas mystery with a touch of #Hanukkah begins in medias res, like so:

Uh-oh.

  1. Uh-Oh!…I use that phrase around here a lot these days….grunt!….Do youse all remember Astro? The Jetsons dawg… His friend Elroy…snort!…Astro had the same voice as my pal Scooby….Do!

  2. It’s interesting how much of the Jetsons has or is about to come true (and how much hasn’t). And remember Stanley Sprockets — where George worked. Ah, those were the days!
