Is that part of “write what you know”? We all know you play tennis. Just aren’t quite sure how good at it you are. You also are an ardent bicycle rider. Which book has all the stuff about bicycles?
It’s errand day, at least for me. The mail just arrived and I’m locking the front gate for the weekend and letting the dogs out to enjoy the day. Then I’m heading to Walter Andersen’s nursery to pick up a bulb jar and a paperwhite for my Mom’s birthday next Wednesday. (She’ll be 95) and inquire when their 2025 list of bare root roses and fruit trees will be out. I’m looking for a climbing Iceberg for the arch next to Caesar’s memorial garden. I think I will have to order fruit trees from Trees of Antiquity as seems like the only way I am going to have a reliable source of Newtown Pippin apples is to grow them myself. I ordered a replacement for my fridge/freezer thermometer and I’m still searching for a Snowfire and Champagne Cocktail rose. I do this in the fall prior to bare root season. I have one Champagne Cocktail rose in the back but I want one in the front. I will be attempting to propagate the one I have starting this Spring. I was successful ONCE with two cuttings of a rose by my front porch that I thought was Merlot but isn’t. I have the last known Mary Alice rose in the Universe so need to propagate that in case anything happens to the mother plant. Roses are like books, they go “out of print” only once gone, they don’t come back. I’m still searching for a Snowfire and am hesitant to buy from an “online” nursery on eBay.
The mail is here so time to let the dogs out and head out the door and start my weekend. I’ll probably stop by the florist on the way back to arrange for a delivery for my Mom. Then the rest of the weekend is mine.
Happy International Rabbit day and National Bunny day.
It is both Fish Amnesty day and National Hunting and Fishing day. Not sure about that pairing. Have some strawberry cream pie instead.
Do we have anyone in North Carolina? Today is YOUR day.
For the rest of us, it is World’s Largest Pet Walk day and World Rabies day.

Good day to all.
