Lola!

Many thanks to Ann Dickinson for letting us know a little more about Lola, Chet’s March Friend of the Month. In April this could be you! Lola’s the FB profile pic till then and Ann gets a signed copy of A Farewell to Arfs, the latest Chet and Bernie mystery (btw for limited time available from all sources at $2.99, digital only).

Lola is a therapy dog for Paws and Think – her handler is In a book club for the group and Chet’s books are one of their favorites! Lola is a lap puppy long hair chihuahua while her handler reads for book club – she happily does this except when her mama will fall asleep while reading in the book bunks her on the head when she falls asleep ouch! Lola does attend the zoom book club meetings, but she generally will sleep through them! She does think that Chad gets into some very interesting antics and she agrees with some of his thoughts in the book!
Our book club meets once a month and this month the selection is A Fistful of Collars I’m just a couple of chapters in but so far I’m really enjoying it! We meet at the end of the month!

  1. Greetings!

Congratulations, Lola! You are very cute. I have to admit, as soon as I saw your name I thought of the song by The Kinks.

    Create a good day!

  2. Ah, the missing Saturday post was FOM Lola!

Oh, and who is “Chad”? An extremely rare typo there.

Speaking of Chet, today is National If Pets Had Thumbs day. Can you imagine what Chet would do with thumbs? I’m sure those doorknobs wouldn’t e a problem at all, in fact Bernie would be teaching Chet how to pick locks.

The Iditarod starts today, so I imagine the blog will be a bit sparse with Plunderers busy with other distractions.

Back to our cutie Lola, I will confess I am not a big fan of Chihuahuas (or other small dogs and I’ve always had big ones) but I do like the long haired ones and Lola is quite the fetching blonde.

I will let Freyja know about the Iditarod and how lucky she is she isn’t running through the snow right now. Nope, the high today is 60 andI’ll be joining her and Diana outside, bundled up of course, for a bit of yard work. The new gate is sagging and I need to install an X cross piece to keep it square before I can install the lattice. Then it is finally, after 3.5 months, done. I hope. Might plant some seeds today too.

  3. I just love little Lola, and her ‘Paws & Think’ book club! Someone over on the Facebook page told Chet to remember: Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets!

  4. Where we lived before moving to North Texas, one of our neighbors had 3 chihuahuas, one being long haired. She was very pretty too. And very small! Mom had Howie (senior bassett hound) then and he often got to go on walks with the chihuahuas. He was smitten with one of them and she returned the affection. It was cute to watch them walk together.
