Happy St. Patricks Day everyone. I thought something Irish would be good today. But in all my writing – the Chet and Bernie series and the rest – nothing Irish came to mind! What a dreadful long-lasting lapse! But at least there are a few Irish names, such as Trimble. Here’s Mayor Trimble in A FISTFUL OF COLLARS.

“This must be Chet,” said Mayor Trimble. “What a handsome dog!” The mayor turned out to be a round little guy with more than one chin, very big ears and a string tie. In short, what wasn’t to like? “Happen to have some nice rawhide chews,” he said. “Can he have one?”
