Back – if no one minds – to OF MUTTS AND MEN (a Chet and Bernie  mystery in a series that can be read in any order). Marjorie Gorton writes:

“I just finished reading it yesterday. The scene with Bo, when Chet chooses to stay with him, is beautiful and sweetly poignant. It made me stop reading for a couple of minutes to let it all sink in.”

Marjorie is referring to the psychopomp scene in Chapter 9. Are there any other psychopomp scenes in crime fiction? Many in Greek lit, of course, including in the Odyssey, Hermes and all that.
