Phriday Photos on Saturday!

Where readers do the work. Many, many thanks to Maury (WTAFP) for this installment:

I have an idea for a Pfriday Photos that is a bit different. This is not of individual Plunderers or members of the nation within, but of some of the memorabilia connected to the blog and the Plunderers from years past. Obviously the best memorabilia are the wonderful calendars prepared each year by Miss Wose, but above and beyond that, there are a number of special items that have made their way into our hands and hearts, some from Spence while others are from fellow Plunderers.

I start with a couple of my favorite items from Spence, the official Chet and Bernie frisbee, with few if any teeth marks showing, which is accompanied by an original Little Detective Agency business card, which I always carry in my wallet in case of need.

Next is the cover of the Advanced Reader Copy of To Fetch a Thief that Wookie won in Spence’s first blog contest. This is doubly meaningful because it also was that contest that essentially laid the foundation for the formal formation of the Plunderers as a group.

Next is a copy of a Plunderers Passport, compliments I think of Nancy Drew (or her brother) and possibly Snowbella, for Plunderers to use when meeting other Plunderers in person or in dogson as the case may be.

And so Plunderers can be properly attired (or at least their outer garments are) for such occasions, these are patches made in connection with Snowhook’s running in 2012 Iditarod.

Because among the Plunderers there are some extraordinary cooks, this is the cover of the official Plunderer Cookbook, assembled by many and with the first printing facilitated by our only Australian Plunderer, Liz F, assisted by her faithful companion Cricket. Note if anyone wants a copy, I do have a PDF version that I can make available on request.

And what better way to complete a good meal than with some coffee served in your very own official Plunderer Coffee Mug.

Last but not least are the wonderful Chet & Bernie Christmas ornaments that appeared one year anonymously (although everyone knows they came from ML) accompanying one of Miss Wose’s wonderful calendars.

Happy memories and enjoy.

  1. Yeep! That’s a great tour of the WTAFP Wing of the Plunderer Museum.

WTAFP: We are curious about something. Is it possible you’re a member of the Outlaw litter separated at birth? Youse and Ole Doc sound a lot a like with respect to being a collector of fine things.

  2. Memorabilia!….Yeeep!….We here have the Frisbee, which I have never chased, the original Little Detective Agency business card, the Plunderers Passport (first entry was Peter Abrahams!!), both of the Iditarod patches. and the Dishlickers recipe book….snort!snort!….Somehow we here missed out on the Plunderers Coffee Mug….sniff

Memories! ….chuffle!….I’m sure there are years of more memories hanging out there. Maybe others will come forward and share those with this feeble group….guffle!

Question!….To Maury or Wookie, I thought you won the ARC for suggesting the title of “The Dog Who Knew Too Much”….snort!….I forgot that youse had won the ARC for our favorite book “To Fetch A Thief”….yeeep!

  3. Baking!….My friend and I spend the day making and baking Cabbage Rolls….snort!….More hamburger than cabbage to be exact. The recipe is in the Dishlickers cookbook….heh!….We have a boat load so if anyone wants to try some come on over and indulge cuz we only have so much room in the freezer I’m told….gurgle!

  4. Coat!….My friend regrets not keeping track of my Coat of Many Colors….gasp!….We tried and tried to find it but her stupid friend at the time must have gotten rid of it….grrrrr! growl!….My friend says she would have framed it….sniff!, …If Only. ..bah!

  5. Yeeeep!…..Boat Load maybe being a bit of exaggeration at the time,….wheeze!….I may have to bag and hide a boat of cabbage rolls….snort!….The Load can be divided amongst the masses of Thieves and Protogese_s with a total amount in mind…yikes!

  6. Wow. That is quite the haul. So sorry I missed the prime of the Plunderers. I came on a bit late but thanks to Dawson I do have those two patches. I also have a PDF of the cookbook.

Yeah, that was me and the ornaments. I loved the one we got and wanted some for the other Christmas related books so I was determined to learn to make them to match. If life ever slows down, I was thinking of making a set of three for the audio books, since their cover art is different than the books and now I know how to do it. But life just gets in the way.

Thankfully my sewing ZOOM meetings end this week. Unfortunately I now have the sewing bug again and I have a pile of fabric begging to become clothes. Thanks to Cashmerette I know the adjustments I need to make so that my new clothes will be tailored to fit like a glove and I will have the unseen foundations to make they truly fit well. Of course there is still my weekly watercolor class, my once a month crafters meeting and the yard and fence. Always the yard and the fence for a few more years. No watercolor class this week and cooler temps so I’ll be unloading the car and making runs to Home Depot every day for fence boards to stock up as I really need to get back to that. So much else on the list.

Thanks, Maury, for sharing some memorabilia. All of us need to get back on the Phriday Photos bandwagon.

  7. My only treasure in this category is my autographed copy of ‘Tender is the Bite’ from when Jilly, with her stuffy Peanut, was Chet’s Friend of the Month. I AM waiting on pins and needles for my autographed copy of ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Woof’ for suggesting that title. Like ML, I am later to the group and missed those early adventures. *sigh*.
