Phriday Photos

Where you send in the material – photos and blurb about almost anything! – and I laze around. Send to peter.b.abrahams@gmail.com. And now over to Bob Edwards, sound guru and the brains behind Song For Chet, the song from Heart of Barkness.

Here’s Archie doing some pre-season aquatic ball work at Donner Lake the other day. The ball’s floating about twenty yards to his left, which he snagged easily after this brief photo shoot. Archie’s stage name is Sandy Bandana. You can see why.

If you’re curious about the artwork on his bandana (the little tail-wagging dude walking with a cane), it’s the logo for MUTTVILLE Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco. Our dear friend Sherri Franklin started MUTTVILLE in 2007 and so far has rescued over 12,000 senior dogs from shelters and pounds nationwide where their future was not bright. She was a CNN Heroes finalist a few years back and was also part of Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2010 where she was awarded a couple cars (Mutt-mobiles?) and other Oprah schwag. No cages at MUTTVILLE, just couches, beds, baths, vets, dentists and lots of love.

When the Song for Chet video was released with Heart of Barkness (Chet and Bernie Mystery #9 but OK to read first), Sherri was kind enough to post it on MUTTVILLE’s YouTube channel where it’s alive and well.

  1. Greetings!

Great Phriday Photos! Love the Muttville mural and handsome Archie wearing Muttville’s signature bandana. And a big thank you to Sherri for starting Muttville…you are a gem! :^)

Another nice spring day in this neck of the woods.

    Good day to all!
