We often do beginnings on Sunday, taking a look at the start of one of my novels. CAT ON A HOT TIN WOOF, the 16th novel – but not the last! – in the Chet and Bernie mystery series comes out April 14 (preorderable). How about for the next 16 Sundays, we do the beginning of each one, starting with A FAREWELL TO ARFS, the most recent, and working backward (since the series can be read in any order)? Then, on the 16th week, we’ll do CAT ON HOT TIN WOOF. Any objections? If not, here we go:

Who wouldn’t love my job? You see new things every day! Here, for example, we had a perp clinging to a branch high up in a cottonwood tree. That wasn’t the new part.
