An Amazon reviewer makes this observation re the Chet and Bernie mysteries. The character quoted is Etta, the retired crime reporter in A Farewell to Arfs:
‘Plus — as usual — the author hits us with surprising insights into the human condition, like this one, concerning marital infidelity:
“The wife always knows. Completely different if it’s the husband getting cheated on. They never know. At the same time, when they’re not geting cheated on they can get very suspicious. That’s why the cuckold is comedy, and the betrayed wife is tragedy.”‘

Aperçus. Interesting word.
I have one but it is political.
It’s DOG. The Efficiency is silent.
Apologies.
Today is National K-9 Veterans day. I’m glad they, or at least some of them, are allowed to retire.
Purim starts at sundown. I’m not Jewish but one of my favorite recipes is one for Hamentaschen that I got out of a Sunset Magazine. It is not so much a cookie as it is a pastry as the dough is a yeast dough. They give three fillings but my favorite is a prune, almost jam, with cinnamon.
It is Popcorn Lover’s day. That sounds great to me.
Greetings!
I remember chuckling to myself when I first read this particular excerpt. :^)
Lunar eclipse tonight. I am an early riser, but not early enough to see it.
Good evening to all!
