Alps on Alps Arise

Here’s something I didn’t know (a huge category!): Shakespeare invented the name Jessica—Shylock’s daughter in The Merchant of Venice. Did my high school English teacher fail to mention this? Or was my attention elsewhere when she did? There are certainly Shakespearean tidbits in the Chet and Bernie series, such as sleep knitting up the raveled sleeve of care. It’s hard to write in English without him cropping up.

  1. Greetings!

Jessica…Shakespeare…My teacher never mentioned that. Heh!

RIO! I have been thinking about youse, ever since I saw on the news about the tornadoes in your neck of the woods. Hope youse and your little house are safe.

It is going to be 80 degrees in this neck of the woods today.

    Good day to all!

    1. Rose!….This past weekend was pretty scary…wuffle!…Tornado warnings over and over. All of us jumping into a tiny closest again and again…grunt!…I couldn’t help but let off a little steam every time we ended up in that small space much to the alarm of others….snicker!…But finally Sunday the storms let up and everyone was very relieved to breath fresh air again….guffle!burp!

      1. Rio, glad you and yours are safe! BTW, I will remember your wonderful aromatic expression , ‘letting off a little steam’ , and will pilfer it the next time the occasion arises! And I won’t give you credit, either. That’s just how I roll! 😉
