Washington’s Birthday! Actually not till the 22nd but today’s when we recognize it. His like doesn’t come around often. Among many other attributes, he always had dogs in his life, and is credited with the development of the American foxhound. (He wanted something speedier for his fox hunts.) He also had a flair for naming them – for example, Sweet Lips, Venus, Trulove, Taster, Tippler, Drunkard and Madame Moose.
