Quacky Baseball

Maybe -following up on yesterday’s post re Reality Check – I should do a post covering all my work for younger readers. But today I’m a bit pressed for time, so – taking a cue from a commenter yesterday – let’s just go with my only picture book. And those beautiful and witty illustrations are not by me, of course, but by Frank Morrison, a superb Atlanta artist. My contribution? One day while I was working on my Echo Falls series for middle-graders, I had an idea for a picture book and called my editor (a terrific one) and said, “I have an idea.” I described it. She said write it. I sent it in a few hours later. My work was done! There aren’t many words in a picture book!
