I will get a blurb about Ramses’ in the mail to you soon, I promise.
Today is also Humane Society Anniversary day. As you all know, I am a huge fan of our local Humane Society, SDHumane dot org. The do fabulous work for all animals, wild and domestic and support the community in many ways.
Today is also National Cranberry Relish day and I will be taking some time out to make some.
I’ve been very busy with the yard. I am reorganizing my bookcase pantry in the garage with can racks and bottle racks and tossing anything that is old or leaking. Yes, I haven’t been using it much as it wasn’t very functional. Now I am making it functional.
I’ve also been adding a second set of brick and boards shelving along the fence outside the garage. It was also not very functional. I keep my pots and gardening things there but was also keeping the canning jars there until it was just a mixed mess. Not quite finished but when done I will have one set of shelving just for the pots and gardening things and one set just for the canning jars. Yes, I have quite a few. At least when I’m doing I’ll be able to see them all and chose the appropriate size and shape for what I want to do. It will also reduce my pile of bricks and clear the path along the north side of the house so I can get the platform cart and the wheelbarrow through more easily.
Lately I have been concentrating on the upcoming gate repair that will take place over Thanksgiving. I will be having a vacation hold placed on my mail so I will have 5.5 days to get it done. Hoping that will be enough. Have already started the many trips back and forth to Home Depot for supplies. Still have some to go. Mostly a lot of wood in a lot of trips, I figure it will be about $300 worth so there’s that too. But I have finally settled on an improved design and a finalized “cut list”.
That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.
But I promise, I will write up Ramses’ story with photos this weekend. And maybe send Goliath too as a back up for future weeks.
I have no photos of Madame Curious but I might do a write up on her too. Then maybe start on the family dogs, Cuppy, Mitzi, Candy, Dolly and even Chipper the bird, although no photos of him either. I’ll find some stock stuff for Madame Curious and Chipper.
And I suppose we don’t have to stick to the family pets for Phriday Photos. Perhaps we can share some vacation photos. I did enjoy WTAFP’s photos of his vacations to Vermont and presidential residences. Well, especially with Franklin and Teddy in the photos but also just the places too.
Being late to the blog I would also enjoy hearing about Audrey and Pearl.
I was four years old when Kennedy was assassinated.
A light dusting of snow on the tops of cars in my building’s parking lot when I woke up very early this morning. Lots of rain the rest of the day. This neck of the woods sure needs it.
I was in high school when Kennedy was shot. What a tragic day that was! And, for the first time, the nation could witness such an awful event via the newfangled gadget called television.
I guess I am older than most of my fellow blog contributors as I just celebrated my double hockey sticks birthday this week.
