Phriday Photos!

Where you do the work and I put my feet up – although I’ll actually be shoveling snow off the decks. I really like shoveling snow, by the way, one of those simple-minded tasks I’m cut out for.

Many thanks to Maury (WTAFP) for thinking of this and sending it in to me at peter.b.abrahams@gmail.com. And that Wookie! Star power or what!

I thought with the weather outside it would be nice to stroll down memory lane of past snow dogs, specifically photos of Wookie, Teddy and Franklin experiencing significant snowfalls.

I would call it something like “Snow Dogs Over the Years” and describe it as a quick reminiscence of years gone by when snow was king and the dogs of Chevy Chase (Wookie, Teddy and now Franklin) would frolic in the snow.

The first one is of Wookie and the great snow storm known as Snowmaggedon (winter of 2010).

The second and third would be of Teddy and the great snow storm known as Snowpoocalyse (winter of 2015).

The final one is Franklin this week and the great snow storm known as Fern.

  1. Greetings!

Love these Snow Dogs photos, especially the one of Wookie looking very Zen! :^)

Still lots of snow around in this neck of the woods, and very, very cold.

    Create a good day!

  2. Oh, thank you, WTAFP and OFA!! Love the snow dogs and the names associated with the different storms (Fern sounds pretty tame for all the snow it dumped everywhere!). This made my Phriday🤗

  3. BigTiny. I couldn’t agree with you more on Fern. The names for the two earlier storms were names that people started using to describe them and the names just stuck. These days winter storms are given names just like hurricanes, which is where Fern comes from. But it does sound a little wimpy compared to the others.

I still remember for Snowmaggedon that I literally had to dig trenches through the snow in the back yard in order for Wookie to even go out, the snow was so deep, as you can see from the photo. And remember, Wookie was a big boy (much bigger than either Teddy or Franklin), so if it was too deep for him to even go out, it was quite deep indeed.

  4. Well, Mom feels silly now about complaining about having to scrape ice from the driveway and sidewalk today after seeing how deep the Wookie snow was.
Like she said yesterday….the wonder that is snow has lost its luster.

  5. What a great reminisce. Love seeing the three of them enjoying the snow.

I’ve been a bit busy around the house. No time for taking photos or doing write-ups.

I think I’ve run out of pet biographies but I know I have some photos, just not sure how interesting they are.
