Not Beginnings

Sunday is for beginnings – when we look at the start of a Peter Abrahams novel – but reader G M Mike Szyndler sent in this interesting photo so let’s go with it. And please note I’ll be at Gibson’s Bookstore in Concord NH at 6:30 PM on Tuesday to discuss A Farewell to Arfs, the latest Chet and Bernie novel. Come stump me with difficult questions. Even easy ones often do the job!

  1. LOL. I love little arching bits like that.

It’s National Fajita day. I could manage that. I’ve got some steak in the freezer I could thaw, some flour tortillas and I could steal a bit of bell pepper from the dog’s ingredients and I have some onion too. Spices I have loads. I also have chicken. Actually the chicken sounds even better.

It is also National Ice Cream Pie day. I have plenty of ice cream but will eat it as is, thank you.

For those inclined: Pino Noir day. Not much of a wine drinker. I’ll wait until Moscato day.

It is Bad Poetry day. Not that anyone here could write bad poetry except intentionally. Perhaps something starting with “It was a dark and stormy night.”

    It was a dark
    and stormy night.
    The dog did bark,
    gave me a fright.

  2. Jumped I did
    And startled the cat
    He gave a big hiss
As I gave him a pat.

ML!! I tried but mine is definitely BAD poetry!

Mom started the new Chet and Bernie today. It’s really good!! We will probably finish it tomorrow!!!
