Came to the office this morning, switched on Willie’s Roadhouse (satellite radio) and there was George Jones singing He Stopped Loving Her Today – a chestnut if ever there was. But my favorite part is actually the spoken bit toward the end, not because of George (who apparently had trouble remembering the words) but because of Millie Kirkham singing in the background. Millie Kirkham! What a voice! If you listen to country music from that era you’ll hear her a lot, probably without knowing who it is.
