Caravaggio (More)

Commenter MLaiuppa thinks someone should make a movie based on the life of Caravaggio. I couldn’t agree more! Among many other things, there are beckoning gaps in the narrative. IT’S A WONDERFUL WOOF fills in one of those gaps:

“Hadn’t even heard of him until recently.” Bernie dug in his pocket, took out a folded and somewhat wrinkled sheet of paper. He unfolded it. Uh-oh. I’d forgotten all about the picture of the dude holding up the cut-off head of another dude. Why couldn’t some things stay forgotten? “Apparently Goliath is a self-portrait,” Bernie said.

Katherine peered at the picture. “I didn’t know that.” Her voice got a little husky. “His power is overwhelming, even on a print-out like this.” She looked up. “How come you have it? Are you telling me that Caravaggio was actually here in the Valley?

  1. WTAFP: Just so we’re clear, should be we cautious of the thug part or the tremendous talent part or both? Asking for a friend…

  2. Hard to say. As you are unquestionably already tremendously talented, more caution there may difficult in any event. As to the tremendous thuggery part, my best advice would that this is a clearly a case of “so therefore” as Chet would say, and I would just leave it at that.

    1. The finer points of the law seemed to be very nuanced. For now, we will stick to vacationing in Philadelphia as naught but lovable miscreants.
