The random number generator speaks: “Audrey!” That makes Audrey Chet’s Friend of the Month for Sept. She’ll be the FB profile pic till October and her human companion gets a signed copy of either A FAREWELL TO ARFS, the most recent Chet and Bernie mystery or MRS. PLANSKY GOES ROGUE, my latest novel. Next month this could be you! Just send in a photo. RNG does the rest! Congrats to Audrey.

Congratulations to Audrey! Way to grab the perp by the nose.

Dawson! So nice to see Dawson and Río here.
Being a bear collector I can’t say I totally approve of Audrey’s proboscis fixation. But at least it isn’t a Steiff bear and if Audrey’s Mom is okay with it, who am I to object?
It has been wicked hot these past few days. I will have to venture out to meet my German cousins at my Mom’s house. They’ve been touring the Western U.S. by car seeing all sorts of natural wonders and meeting friends. Of course the hottest month of the year to go to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. At least my car and my Mom’s house are air conditioned as is my bedroom. I broke down and turned it on yesterday. It will likely stay on a few more days until the temps go below 80 as the heat as soaked into the house. All progress in the yard has stopped. *sigh*.
